Sounds, shapes, strokes

Board books, wipe-clean sheets and picture charts for a child who cannot yet read a sentence alone. Read aloud by an adult, worked on by the child.

First readers and workbooks

Short sentences, large type, one new idea per page. Handwriting and arithmetic run alongside reading rather than after it.

Chapters and questions

Longer readers, comprehension sets and moral dilemmas. Civic sense moves from rules to reasons, and the answer key stops being the point.

Our standards

What we promise on every title.

These are commitments, not marketing. If a book cannot meet all four, we do not print it.

  • Written for the Indian classroom

    A word problem about a bus fare beats a word problem about a subway token. Our examples come from a child's own world.

  • Trialled before it is printed

    Every workbook is put in front of children in its own age band, and the teachers who would use it, before it goes to press.

  • Print first, screen second

    Audio and video explain what a page cannot: how a letter is stroked, how a sound is made. They are companions to the book.

  • Character taught, not preached

    Ethics arrives as situations a child recognises, with room to disagree. A story a child can argue with is one they remember.
